About Diamonds

Only Natural Diamonds

Rhys James works exclusively with natural diamonds.

Formed over billions of years, each stone carries a rarity and presence that cannot be replicated. Their significance lies not only in their beauty, but in their origin.

We are committed to responsible sourcing, transparency and the careful stewardship of natural resources.

Further information on natural diamonds, including their provenance and distinction from laboratory-grown alternatives, is available here

4Cs

Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat Weight are known collectively as the 4Cs. Together, they form the recognised framework for assessing a diamond’s quality and value.

Developed by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), this system provides a consistent and widely understood standard. It allows each diamond to be evaluated and described with clarity and precision.

At Rhys James, the 4Cs are considered as part of a broader, more nuanced approach, where proportion, balance and overall presence are equally important.

GIA Expertise

Rhys James works with GIA-graded diamonds and maintains in-house expertise informed by the standards of the Gemological Institute of America.

Each diamond is considered with care, and selected in close dialogue with the client. Guidance is offered with clarity and discretion, ensuring a process that is both informed and personal.

Selection

Through a network of trusted international partners, Rhys James has access to some of the world's finest natural diamonds.

Each stone is selected with care, considering not only its gemological qualities, but its suitability for the individual piece and the person for whom it is intended.
