A Culture of Creative Expression
For three generations, the James family has contributed to artistic life in Australia.
From the decorative pottery and ceramics of Rhys James’ great-uncle Alan James, produced under the Remued and Pamela names in the 1930s, to the landscapes, portraits and still life paintings of his uncle Don James, this lineage reflects a sustained engagement with craft, material and form.
Rhys James continues this tradition through a contemporary jewellery practice grounded in considered design and artisanal production. Most pieces are made to order, allowing for a measured use of materials and an uncompromising level of attention.
Independent and privately operated, Rhys James is guided by a belief in craftsmanship, integrity and enduring value.
